How El Clásico Trips Began: From a Dream in 2007 to a Global Soccer Experience

Some journeys start with a dream. For me, that dream was simple: to see El Clásico — Real Madrid vs FC Barcelona — live in person.

Back in March 2007, life was opening up for my family and me. My wife, Regina, with her background in travel (she worked in the 1990s for the Spain trip consolidator Petrabax), helped me plan a trip I had always imagined. I called childhood friends — including my chlldhood friends Edgar and Marvin, and my older brother Irvin (RIP) — and we set off for Barcelona.

We had everything lined up: flights, hotels, restaurants. But we didn’t have tickets. That didn’t stop us. With the help of a hotel concierge, we found our way in — tickets in hand, entering the legendary Camp Nou in a Sprinter van. We sat down in our seats, wide‑eyed, knowing this was the beginning of something unforgettable.

That match wasn’t just special because it was my first. It was also the night Lionel Messi scored a hat trick in a 3–3 El Clásico classic — history unfolding in front of our eyes.

At the end of that trip, the five of us said: We have to do this again. By fall, we were in Madrid for the return match. The bug had bitten.

From Tradition to Purpose

What started as a once‑in‑a‑lifetime trip became a tradition. Twice a year, friends and family joined us for El Clásico. As word spread, people began asking the same question: How do you get tickets?

By then we had reliable local connections. I was running a marketing company in the U.S., but it became clear we had something bigger on our hands. For a while, we partnered with a travel industry client to bring others to Spain for El Clásico. When that partnership ended, we stayed friends — and the vision kept growing.

Then in 2015, on our 25th wedding anniversary, a driver taking us to El Celler de Can Roca in Girona asked what I did. I told him about my marketing firm and how I was organizing trips to El Clásico. He paused and said how are you getting the tickets?:

“If you’re not working with El Príncipe de Barcelona, you’re working with the wrong person.”

Right then, he called him. That connection changed everything.

Our Philosophy: Family First, Quality Always

Through all these years, Regina has repeated one rule that defines who we are:

“We will never recommend a hotel, restaurant, or service where we wouldn’t take our own family.”

We’re not the cheapest — and we’re not trying to be. We deliver best value: centrally located hotels (not airport “bargains” that cost you time and taxi money), trusted drivers, curated dining, and game tickets that turn into lifelong memories.

It’s how we’d plan it for our own family — and that’s why our clients keep coming back.
