The story of El Clásico Trips begins in March 2007, when I made my first pilgrimage to see Real Madrid vs FC Barcelona in Barcelona. My wife, who worked in the ’90s at Spain consolidator Petrabax, planned the flights, hotel, even the restaurants. Tickets? We didn’t have them… yet. With help from the hotel concierge, a local contact, and a bit of luck, we rolled up to Camp Nou in a Sprinter van, tickets in hand, and took our seats. The game, the meals, the company, unforgettable.
We went with a small group of close friends (including my brother‑in‑law Edgar and my brother Irvin—RIP). We loved it so much we promised to return every year… then immediately doubled it to twice a season. Friends started asking how to get tickets; we shared contacts; over time, I partnered with a travel client to formalize things. That relationship ran its course (we’re still friends), and ECT kept growing.
In 2015, on our 25th anniversary, a driver taking us to El Celler de Can Roca asked what I did. I said I ran a US marketing firm and organized El Clásico trips. He replied, “If you’re not working with El Príncipe de Barcelona, you’re working with the wrong person.” He called him on the spot, an introduction that leveled up everything.
Our promise: We plan trips as if they were for our own family, which is why our travelers keep coming back.
Our Standard (Family‑First)
From day one, my wife set the rule:
“We will never recommend a hotel, restaurant, or service where we wouldn’t take our own family.”
